Currently, I am the Principal Cellist of the Ann Arbor Symphony, as well as a member of the Michigan Opera Theater Orchestra and an extra musician with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. I have held positions as Principal Cellist of the Toledo Symphony and Opera Orchestras and the Flint Symphony. I also perform in the orchestras of the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego, California and the Lancaster Festival in Lancaster, Ohio. In addition, I am the owner and operator of SCStrings! a chamber music group, providing string quartets, trios and duos, as well as solo cello, for all manner of events, from weddings and parties to recitals and concert series. Throughout my career as a performer I have maintained of studio of private cello students, employing a traditional (non-suzuki) method of instruction. Depending on the student's level I teach in 30, 45 or 60 minute increments. My studio is conveniently located at the Rudolf Steiner High School on Pontiac Trail in Ann Arbor. In addition to private instruction I have been on the faculty of several summer institutes, as well a visiting lecturer/teacher at many public and private schools in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Most recently I have served as adjunct staff in the music department at the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor, coaching chamber music and assisting with various aspects of their extensive strings program.
